We offer a variety of computer technology and related classes at BACE. Our lab is equipped with 10 computers, a scanner, printers, and high-speed Internet access.


BASIC COMPUTER CONCEPTS
Learn basic knowledge of the desktop, operating system, file structure, creating and editing icons, file management, directory structure, control panel and system configuration, and navigation of computer. Pre-requisite: able to turn on a computer.

INTERMEDIATE EXCEL FOR WINDOWS
Learn spreadsheet, basic data entry, editing, data tables, mail merge, usinf functions for formulas, converting to database, pivot table and macros. Pre-requisite: basic understanding of Windows and applications.

INTERMEDIATE MS WORD
This will expand on Introduction to Word to include creating tables, inserting charts and pictures into documents along with mail merging, labaels and envelopes, working with columns and using templates.

INTRO TO WINDOWS APPLICATIONS
Students will learn the capabilities of Windows and how to navigate in the Windows environment. Familiarity with computers is a pre-requisite.

KEYBOARDING I, II
Beginning students will learn the touch key method with emphasis on ergonomics and avoidance of repetitive motion problems. Advanced students will concentrate on numeric keypad skills, reports, letters, memos, etc., while working to increase speed and accuracy. This is a required class for the Basic Office Skills Certificate program. Open enrollment to all students.
